Hi frens šŸ’š

About two weeks ago, I finally finished The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I’d known about this book for a while but had never taken the plunge, until my husband and I decided to start a little ā€œbook clubā€together.

We each suggested two titles, and to make the choice fun, we asked our dog to decide by sniffing and whichever slip of paper she sniffed first would be the winner. Of course, she sniffed all of them at once... so one of our cats had to step in as the ultimate judge. Decision-making, am I right? 🐾

I honestly didn’t know what to expect from Evelyn Hugo. Even though I’d seen glowing reviews, it’s not the kind of book I usually pick up. But wow, I was completely seduced by Evelyn herself! All that old-Hollywood glamour, the drama, the secrets... it felt like listening to an old friend spilling the most fascinating tea. I didn’t even realize how fast I was devouring it. I guess she's all that.

It was so outside my comfort zone, but I loved every page and even more so because I got to share it with my husband (who’s also enjoying it a lot!). I wonder how many books we'll read this year together, either way I love this first month!

Have any of you read this one? Or do you have books you’ve enjoyed reading together with your partner? I’d love some recommendations!

See you later, alligator 🐊
