I don't think you need a bunch 1 or 2 paid relays should be fine you ideally just want to broadcast to ones that overlap with reasonable read traffic, if users interact with your post, should spread to other relays and so the fun begins

I'm sceptical of the one-off fee model to access a paid relay. Waiting until the recurring fee model comes into play.

Will come for sure, once Bolt12 is ready. And it's good, servers need to be paid. I'm happy to pay a few bucks on monthly basis for my independence.
