depends on how you define winning. 2025 was the first year I got paid in bitcoin by an employer. I use lightning daily. I can send sats to anyone on earth who generates an address. I can buy a few more things with bitcoin than I could in years past. I'm paying for a few things regularly with sats now.
I'd be disingenuous if I said the dollar exchange rate didn't matter at all, but it matters about as much as it mattered 6 months ago when it was at $120k (a price I considered unbelievably low for 100 million magical internet money units).

Steak n Shake is international and they take sats everywhere. Granted there aren't a huge number of companies who take sats for goods and services... but they're out there.
Is USA, Saudi Arabia and Qatar and a few outlets in Europe what you call international?

I was in Queenstown this week using LN at merchants, routing all the payments through my own node. Have you been there and tried?

Correct and I am planning a road trip in the old Hiace and maybe hiking some trails down there in and around Queenstown to see what the lightningpay.nz BTC circular economy is like there - it looks like there are a number of bars and restaurants there where I can spend sats- hope to report on this when its done, maybe in next few weeks.
lightningpay.nz have put a lot of work into building up a network BTC/LN accepting merchants in the area and it does look exciting.
In the meantime @Darthcoin keeps being a toad and refusing to attach his wallets- I cannot understand it and will keep reminding him to reconsider his position. Surely he is technically capable of attaching a wallet if I can do it most people can!

Seems silly to wait for them to do it... just look at price as validation of the idea/thesis. We are not winning
