it's fucking insane that a man who allowed his 2nd in command to dupe him into launching a war that killed million+ Iraqis has a venue for talking about the humility of George Washington or the institution of the presidency.
He gets it right tho, and he should know, lingering in the halls of America's entrenched power brokers yields a kind of corrupting power. Dick Cheney had it, Bush Sr. had it, HRC & her husband seem to have had it.
I guess lil' baby bush didn't really have it because he was too busy getting tickets for drunk driving and flunking out of school.
anyway, all this new positioning of bush in the limelight is the result of what's about to come out about Obama... and we're gonna be looking for either a new president or some reason to let the current one stick around. Sure would be weird to find out that Obama was leading the Biden admin. Sure would be weird to hear the RNC say that Trump 1 didn't really count because he was fighting a deepstate. Sure will weird probably, no matter what comes next.
It's also pretty weird that neither of the parties seems to be (even remotely) fielding a candidate yet.
