David Silver and his London-based startup, Ineffable Intelligence, plan to create "an infinitely learning superintelligence that autonomously discovers the foundations of all knowledge."

Instead of massive data sets, the AI will train through reinforcement learning. It will acquire knowledge independently, through trial and error. Ultimately, it will reach a level of knowledge that is beyond the reach of all humanity.

At Deepmind, Silver developed AlphaGo and worked on Gemini. He left Google last year to start his own company, which is rumored to have sparked a fierce competition among investors to be the first.

Ineffable Intelligence raised a billion dollars in its seed round. The estimated valuation is $4 billion.
