Since then I've been testing and adjusting the setup.

Changes:

1. No torbrowser, to slow and privacy "propanga" (I felt for it. Tor is nice, but not for this). Change to a VPN router at home / or single for pc when traveling (faster, stable and good enough privacy for a normal person. "I watch porn and search for music to download". Later I want to configure a vps wit wg and tls. So everything look like a tls connection. That's privacy in plain sight :)).
2. No Rizful... because USDT.
3. Robosats app on pc or phone. Works very well.

My current setup:

• Mozilla + Bitwarden + Alby-Extension + LNbits + Nostr (master-key) + a ln custodial Wallet*

I've been very happy with the setup. Over VPN is it faster and stable. Having profiles in mozilla, allows me to have clean environment for my custodial solutions and create other profiles to compare or just try something new, without damaging the one that is working.

Moving to another pc or browser requires one-time access to the recovery email to enter bitwarden. After that you can login using the master-password. Then you can reconfigure alby-extension, your wallets and loggin to SN and so on. (10min - 1h at the most and you go to go).

This is quite portable. I only need to memorized the access to the recovery email and can use any pc or even a profile from a friends browser. That's. Since this are custodial solutions, it is like logging in to your email from a friends pc to check something. Now you can access to some sats from yours friends pc, and paid him/her as thanks. If they do not have any wallet, you can show them how to set up some in a few minutes using their pc. That's amazing. This is the path to self-custody that I want to promote to friends and family by using things their already have.

One other learning experience was to confront my fear of loosing or forgetting passwords. At the begging it feels overwhelming to memorize some random words. But using them daily helped memorized what I needed to have access. Practice also showed that I was scar about possibles things that never happened. And when they happened, I've already had mothns without problems without realiazing it. So now I feel more confident regarding loosing or having ot create new wallets or credentials. You can rebuild. This is also a great experience. If you're confident on something people will feel it to.

Nowadays you need a password manager for any service you used today. But you do not really understand what it means to loose your access to your accounts. Since companies can recover it for you. But suing nostr and lightnning will teach you that. It may feel hard but It is very easy. One just need to start testing and learn from the mistakes.

Now, the reason of my post, I decided to update my wallets for SN and logging credentials. For that I prepared the new wallet and recover my logging credentials using my nostr master-key (I was not sure if it would work, so I was prepared to create a new one. But I did not needed it. I used the one I had in bitwarden).

Steps:

create an account in LNVoltz -> Save credentials in bitwarden.
create a wallet for SN -> save url, admin-key and invoice-key in bitwarden. (I did is as a note and customized it. Quite useful).
create a password for alby-extension (20chr using bitwarden)
connect wallet to alby-extension using LNbits (adming-key and url)
create nostr master-key in alby-extension for that wallet (save master-key in bitwarden)
login to SN using old credentials.
unlink old nostr and lightning. Link new ones.
set up wallet.
done.

I was quite easy. Compare to a recovery of an gmail account this only need some random words, not my date of birth, name, phone nummber....

I understand nostr and ln wallets a little bit better than before and I wil teach my freinds and family to use this as well. I now that some people will find it to much work, but this is just the tip of the ice berg. Undertanding that self-custody IS YOU. Having an account to use as YOU is like having a picture of you saying this is me. And if you loose it, please print a new one. Because without that picture I am not ME.
