I think the liveness issue is pretty real.  Especially if the resurfaced post is from a user who's no longer active.  I'm glad I now saw the post, but I probably won't comment on it because I don't think anyone's gonna see the comment.  Even resurfaced posts from active users, I feel like I won't get as much interaction if the post itself is years old.

Are you able to tell how much these feelings are caused it violating your expectations vs it being something you'd remove given the choice?

fwiw I have roughly the same reaction but I identify it in me as emotional, as *the vibe of this is off*, which usually means I haven't adapted my expectations yet.
