If it's someone like Cousins or Carr and they make it clear that part of the deal is mentoring JJ, they could take advantage of their roster talent and develop their young QB.

Definitely possible. Needs to be handled correctly for sure

I think either of them would sign up for one last chance to win a Super Bowl while mentoring a young guy.

Vikings aren't winning a SB with those guys. They are good but they are probalby the worst team in their division.

reply

Even if they’re the worst in their division, if the other 3 are strong among the NFC, they just need to edge out one of them (theoretically), similar to how the NFC West had 3 playoff teams this year.

I would not be surprised if Detroit takes another step back next year. They need some leadership changes or revamping. Green Bay feels like they could be good or bad, depending on injuries and critical play calling. I expect Chicago to remain pretty good

reply

No one expected either the Pats or the Seahawks to be in the Super Bowl this year.

Amazing the Falcons gave Cousins such a giant $160M 4 year deal

Benched in year 1!

2 years left

Do you want the Rams to find Stafford's replacement this year or kick the can down the road?

reply

I agree, but I think those guys might believe they could win a Super Bowl there and no other plausible contender needs a QB. At least for Carr, the alternative is waiting on an injury to one of the top QBs.
