I’m afraid to tell you that things have gone way down south! The sets come with manuals that dictate how the blocks must be assembled in **one particular way**. My son has assembled lion dance Lego sets, Minecraft sets, now dinosaur sets. After he has finished assembling, he leaves them to languish at some corner of the house. No motivation to take them apart and reassemble

I loved lego growing up. It taps into a young male's soul. At some point it got boring, too formulaic.

I haven't checked but I hope they've added less deterministic lego sets. Something that tells you the goal, and gives you all the pieces, but there are many paths from A to B.
