“Do you know when World Water Day is?”I asked the son, flipping through the pages of “Making Every Drop Count”. I wanted to ignite his interest in sustainability issues by opening his mind to the intriguing world of water.

To my surprise, he replied me with a question of his own. “Do you know when World Hippo Day is?” he asked, not knowing that his innocent sharing would change the way I looked at time forever, “It’s on 15 February.”

Isn’t 15 February the day after Valentine’s Day? That’s easy to remember. I set out wanting to broaden my son’s mind but didn’t expect to improve my general knowledge instead. With a wry smile on my face, I thought that he would grow up to be a concerned citizen due to his affinity towards animals.
