In fact he is helping the community, even if the impact is nihil. As there are many nodes online already.
Running a node is a great way to learn more about how Bitcoin actually works though! Would not have someone else learning and knowing about bitcoin this way, in fact help the community to grow?

Yes I agree with that. But run it, learn, experiment, accumulate knowledge and don't say stupid things just because now you run a node.
