Scientists have copied the entire brain structure of a fruit fly into a computer, giving it a virtual space and body. No one had taught the fly to walk or do anything else but it just did it, the virtual fly behaved like a real fly. Does it have a conscience? It's effectively a fly, only it's simulated.
