I guess my snap/immediate thoughts are...
. sounds like just another stablecoin (I dunno, first I've heard of it)
. it really has no affect on bitcoin, it's a separate thing
. if it's run on another chain, it might actually help BTC (people might use BTC to buy the other chain coin, thus bitcoin demand goes up)
I really enjoyed Fooled by Randomness but I think Taleb is blinded by grumpiness on this one.
I'll be very curious to see what it looks like when it gets launched, but I suspect regulations are too cumbersome for it to be anything resembling a new kind of money (#1447666).
Didn't Taleb switch sides to anti-BTC (or more like anti-Bitcoiners) ever since he and Saif fell out over lockdowns & mask mandates?
I'm not super familiar with that particular soap opera, but I'm sure others can fill in the blanks and/or correct me.
So I suspect his stance is driven more by ideology than logic.
The latter can always be made to fit the former. All it takes is a minor dose of denial, which any human can produce in healthy quantities for this purpose.
I know he became anti-BTC, but I don't know the drama history.
Between him and Saif, I can definitely see ego wars though.
Mastercard have just released a one minute video on X spewing out a who's who of kriptoh partners 😳
Didn't see many names i recognise apart from transak which are an onramp and obviously all the SCs
Could see Xcash being masterminded by Mastercard Visa?
Would make sense?
