Remember the exploding pager operation by Mossad, the Israeli secret service? Here's a short summary to jog your memory:

In September 2024, Israeli intelligence (Mossad) rigged thousands of pagers supplied to Hezbollah operatives with tiny explosives via supply-chain infiltration. A simultaneous detonation signal triggered explosions across Lebanon and Syria around 3:30 p.m., killing at least 12 people (including 2 children) and injuring ~2,800–3,000, mostly with severe hand, face, and eye wounds. (A follow-up walkie-talkie attack the next day added more casualties, but the pager phase was the core event.)

Trump was given a replica of one of these exploding pagers that was used in the attack.

Why was this? Brett Weinstein thinks it was a veiled threat. A threat by Israel against Trump, reminding him of the complexity and power of Israeli covert operations.

Here's what he says

And there’s another feature that doesn’t have to do with Charlie that strikes me as in the same vein. The golden pager that was given to President Trump strikes me as another Rorschach test. Just like Netanyahu’s statement after Charlie Kirk’s murder.

As a reminder - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied responsibility for the Charlie Kirk assassination. But it was suspiciously soon after it happened, when nobody was accusing Israel of having anything to do with it. Here's my post on that.
