i have the same tendencies, on a microscale - there are collections of strange little pieces of metal & wood and wires, rubber, electronics, etc. neatly packed and organized by type; often i eventually end up using them in some creative unforeseen manner;

i think the way it works is: my "past self" has already realized (thru pattern recognition in time & space) something that my "current self" doesn't see yet, or cannot see yet due to abscence of required conditions;

i have also gotten into the habit of expressing gratitude to my past self (& the ancestors) every time i find something right when i need it, where i need it; makes me feel like someone cared about me;

some call it subconscious forward thinking, others - providence, or "luck" (which is probably a esoteric derivative of "lux" - light); i.e. a lightbulb moment for recognizing that an item might come in handy one day... this applies to everything & bitcoin too;
