It was a magnificent day. My friends and I were enjoying a ball game at the park. The sound of our laughter intermingled with the chirping of birds. I was excited because it was my birthday celebration! A smile stretched across my face as I was grateful for their company.
While holding the ball, my friend Esther wanted to pass it to my brother Paul. Unfortunately, she threw it too hard. Paul tried his best to catch it, but to no avail. It then hit me — ouch! A wave of intense pain washed over me. My eyes widened in shock as I could not believe what had just happened.
I turned to look at my beautiful cake. It was ruined. I burst into tears at once. My tears fell down my face like a raging waterfall. How was I going to celebrate my birthday now? Esther and Paul felt bad for me.
They lowered their heads in embarrassment, muttering their apologies profusely. I was frustrated at first but decided to forgive them. In the end, they sang me the birthday song, and we ate pieces of the ruined cake. The cake was imperfect, but I had my best friends to make up for it!
