I will be traveling for a few days in Portugal, Spain and Gibraltar

I'm thinking of using eSim

Anyone have any experience, good or bad with eSim in Portugal and Spain?

Thanks

@optimism what do you recommend if eSim is a bad idea?

reply

eSim on its own is ok. I use nadanada for EU sims - on a burner.

how is the coverage in Portugal and Spain?

reply

Depends on where. It's fine in the cities, but expect to be put on 4G, not 5G most of the time, due to your eSIM being recognized as roaming. When you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, you may lose connectivity.

I’ve used eSIM in Spain before and it worked pretty smoothly, way easier than buying a local SIM.
