No I oppose ban, bitcoin is freedom money not a CBDC and therefore while I am personally not for BTC yield it's up to the individual holder to decide whether he is any brain or not. If he does, he will stay away from BTC yield products
Is the winner picked randomly? Who pays the reward?
Yes winners are selected randomly, but weighted by Bitcoin balance. The more BTC your address holds, the higher your chance of being picked.
The reward is provided by the event creator.
Just out of interest why would someone pay a bounty for the poll? Is it to verify the voters are somewhat real bitcoiners? Also why is weighting votes from larger amount addresses an advantage?
You don’t have to offer a reward, but in practice, participation is much higher when there is one. As for weighting, it’s mainly to prevent Sybil attacks. Without it, someone could split their BTC across many addresses to farm rewards.
