Ah, but it is sometimes unclear how to pursue "whatever they are interested in."
We homeschool our kids and I am doing my best to encourage them to pursue the things that interest them, but it is surprisingly difficult to help them go deep on something that is also useful. Maybe I shouldn't put too many bounds on it, but children do seem to be a little like weathervanes: they just turn whichever way the wind blows.
I think that it is more like I want to encourage them to pursue fulfilling whatever need they recognize in the world.
We're human beings and we're consist of a body (as matter) and a soul (as our innate unique properties).
As body meaning of life is survive and prolong you body in the future (give birth).
As a soul we use our unique properties to serve society and make it better (teacher's teaching, doctor's healing, etc).
As an example we can look at a tree. It's a big organism where we're as a branch serving the whole organisms, give birth to the new branches and live as long as our tree lives.
Experiencing a parallel universe.
Matrix is real, we are just peons / NPCs in a virtual game.
Only few will achieve a higher level and "exit the game" after a lot of struggle and playing again and again the same bullshit game, until they realize it and say: enough playing stupid games.
The "exit strategy" is the exit itself... :)
There's not only one exit. Each individual have its own "exit" sign.
Important is to see it and especially at the right moment.
Survive and Procreate! ahahah
When you're not doing one of those, you can actually enjoy your life!
What do you think is the meaning of life?
It's quite ridiculous that so many people are being pushed to study for 20+ years, work for 40+ years, then retire, and die, then what's the point?
