that's the logic these guys were using, as far as I can tell. Most common strategy was: wait for dudes to leave, go inside and change the locks.
Another: shut off the water, wait until they leave, and board up the place until the threat is past.

This reminds me of Hoppe's argument for why first-user is the only rational homesteading principle.
If a squatter can dislodge the first user, then why not a second squatter dislodge the first?
