I tried Claude Opus 4.8 High Effort to try and debug an unexpected data download error, and it ended up eating 90% of my usage limit while providing me with pretty useless thoughts that I'm pretty sure is wrong. I'm pretty sure we're not close to AGI

Mr Heng decided to give his long-suffering fifth graders a break and let them do something fun for once. With a mischievous twinkle in his eyes, he launched a spelling game and conducted in a sure-fire way that would fire his students up: boys versus girls! He tried valiantly to suppress his laughter and keep a poker face as the competition grew heated. However, he bent down and clutched his stomach at one point in time. So amused by their excited antics, he was.
The game worked out reasonably well.
Most students were engaged, and he managed to slip in 5 words from the PSLE 2020 paper - without them realising that they were learning. He strode out of the classroom, his heart blossoming as brightly as cherry blossoms in spring.

I don’t know if I can use it, but the vets have a device that sends a signal to the dormant microchip that then wakes up and sends back the UUID with additional data like the current cat temperature

I'm not sure, but I know that animal chips usually run at low frequencies compared to iPhone NFC. If the iPhone can send/read at that frequency, you'll probably need the chip maker's app, because the temperature parameter probably isn't standardized and likely follows a protocol made by the manufacturer. If you know the chip maker, it's easier to check if you can read it with an iPhone app.
Then it’s a lost battle, only MSD sells the very specific reader for this thermochip. Sad, open source the microchips!
