Someone asked me a good question on Nostr tonight, so I thought I'd share it here too.
Q: How much of your demand actually comes from Nostr vs. word of mouth vs. elsewhere?
Seems like from your site you're Nostr/Bitcoin only? Any regrets? Do you think this is limiting sales/growth at all and if so any plans to expand? How do you handle btc volatility?
Your site/store really is great looking and easy to navigate. When you get an order paid in btc, what's the process like on the backend and with fulfillment?
A: 99% of my sales comes from nostr. Some of that is word of mouth of course, whether from bitcoin / nostr meetups and the like, but word travels fast.
The website is all bitcoin only. I host my own btcpay server and sats come directly to me. No middle man. No Shopify / wix / Wordpress bs.
No regrets. This is how I planned to do it from the start. I believe that in order to see a better world, I think one should act from first principles and support the very thing that is the least extractive. This is proof of work. Bitcoin is money, and I want to encourage it and be an example for others. Yes, this is limiting, I’m aware of that. But it’s my choice. Plus, it’s cooler to say that I’m Btc and nostr only tbh. I’m probably one of maybe 100 people in the world right now that can say that (someone correct me if I’m wrong).
Btc volatility never comes to mind. My prices adjust in realtime, so the sats price is always updated with no manual updating on my part. If I need fiat to cover expenses (supplies, shipping, etc) I trade p2p with a friend or I use @Robosats.
When an order comes though, it is processed by btcpay which runs on my @Start9 node. The sats then go into one of my lightning channels that I manage (6 or 7 now) and as those channels fill I simply swap out to onchain, do coinjoins and then to cold storage. Inventory is also managed by btcpay.
I hope this helps!
If more merchants will do the same, we can hope for a better world...
May The Bitcoin Be With You !
I hate when I see people considering Bitcoin just another "paypal network" for fiat.
Bitcoin is more than that, Bitcoin is here to destroy fiat, not to perpetuate its use.
People should stop calling "bitcoin companies" those that use Bitcoin just as any other payment processor and dump it instantly for more fiat.
People should support more those merchants that are puting back the sats into a real bitcoin circular economy, paying suppliers and employees in sats, or at least what you do Oshi, using a friend to pay your bills with his fiat. By not giving your earned sats to Saylors and BS ETFs through exchanges you are not demanding more fiat and you are putting your sats in good hands.
Bitcoin is destined to create a PARALLEL economy, a free market, that could fuck the banks, govs and bloodsuckers. Nobody is forcing you to join, but if you join at least do it right and never touch fiat. If you just want to use fiat, don't touch bitcoin. Simple as that.
thank you @DarthCoin I appreciate your support and encouragement my friend!
Are you doing public or private channels?
I've got just a few public ones for now
If you want some more inbound, I'd be interested in opening a channel with you.
My goal for my routing node is to facilitate commerce with the bitcoin businesses I use.
What's your nodeID? I would like to analyze it.

I'm into it!
Is your node information available somewhere?
I would really ask you how this is going. Oshi success comes from your pow and the trust you build in bitcoin community, your reputation is your real money.
I haven't touched any of that tbh. I forgot about that post actually. And You're right, the trust I've been given by others in the Bitcoin / Nostr space has been incredibly heartwarming. I'm grateful for all of it and just want to keep getting better. Slowly, but surly.
I’d be so poor I feel like no one can hear
