“Through love, all that is bitter becomes sweet. Through love, the dead are brought back to life.”
Jalal al-Din Rumi

The sculpture is called Psyche Revived by Cupid's Kiss and was created by the Italian sculptor Antonio Canova, completed in 1793.

It is considered one of the supreme masterpieces of Neoclassicism, capturing the dramatic moment when Cupid awakens Psyche from a deadly enchanted sleep with a single kiss.

What is truly remarkable is not only the anatomical perfection, but also the way Canova removed every sense of “weight” from the marble. Psyche’s arms, wrapped around Cupid’s head, create a closed, unbreakable circle of intimacy, reminding us that without the touch of love, the human soul remains dormant.
