Very few people expected the result that Spain accomplished yesterday. Cabo Verde did a great performance, including the goalkeeper. They only made 1 fault and was enough. Spain was walking the entire match, bringing back memories from Qatar 22 and Russia 18. This is not a contender to win the World Cup. We will see if they can change something.
The rest of day brought 3 more draws. Uruguay and Saudi Arabia decided to copy Spain and Cabo verde leaving the group tied in 1 point. Belgium and Egypt also ended the match 1-1. Iran and New Zealand was the fourth match in the day to end in a draw (2-2).
The first match in a World Cup is always a bit tactical.
Tonight, two contenders join the party. France will play Senegal, recent African Cup winners. The other match in this group will include Haaland's Norway against Iraq. Argentina will face Algeria in group J, with Austria vs Jordan completing the day.

Bad old habits..... Excessive amount of passing from one side to other. The difference in the Euro 24 was that we had 2 players (Nico Williams and Lamine) who were fast as wingers. Yesterday we weren't able to try it. Both are coming out from injuries. We will see if they get fit in coming days.

Yesterday it crossed my mind that whoever bet on all 0-0 games probably just saved the default bet and never looked back at it! The guy in first place could be doing even better if he hadn’t gone for draws in the obvious ones, like Germany – Curaçao.
