I was stunned when listening to a podcast recently about there being no defining sound of 2020s electronic music. A producer made the point that Covid-induced inflation impacted ticket prices for gigs and clubs and has led to promoters and music fans alike both being more risk-averse, which in turn fuels a more-of-the-same paradigm. The result is that an artist with a new sound, something different, is less likely to get booked than someone who plays a more trusted genre. So new music and creative expression is directly impacted by inflation, and it stands to reason that other art forms are also. This is not something I EVER considered, but of course it makes total sense.
Seems like a huge opportunity for artists and music promoters to shift to a Bitcoin-only model.
Another thing is true that spotify and producers are using bots to inflate the numbers of play to put their many bad songs in a fake popularity bubble. This inflates tickets too.
Absolutely, good point.
