Ooooof huge blow for Sorsby! Anyone know if he could go to the CFL instead? You figure he needs to play somewhere over the next year.

Sorsby's lawyer might end up causing him additional harm since they said the league "is a violation of the CBA and the law. We will pursue this immediately with the NFLPA." The CBA does give the league the right to hold or not to hold the Supplemental Draft, and over the last few years, they have declined people who have applied for it.

The NFL's letter to Sorsby is very straight up about why it was declining to hold the draft and hit him for doing what he did.

"Instead, even after receiving notice of the NCAA's decision rescinding your college eligibility in May, you sought to avoid the consequences of that determination through litigation rather than accepting responsibility for your actions, and you pursued entry into the NFL only after abandoning those efforts."

Strict but also fair. It is an honor and a privilege to play in the NFL, and Sorsby has some pretty significant issues with him. Betting on your own team is such a basic cardinal sin that it is mind-blowing he would do that/have others place bets for him.

He could go to CFL but the season has already started. That's a tough ask for a QB to jump in.

Oof big yikes for him. This is something that is sad to see, but I also think it is the right thing. He tried to game the system, and it imploded on him.
