I can't make up my mind about whether Strategy is this cycle's FTX or if this is being way overblown. I'm probably leaning towards Saylor having made a house cards and it's getting windy.

I am not sure either. I do think it is overblown but he might be in a downward spiral right now. Honestly his best move is probably to do nothing or try to do some sort of long dated convertible debt deal to raise a couple billion in cash. They just retired a bunch of convertible debt but the market clearly hated that move so issue debt, raise some cash to bolster the reserve and give yourself more runway until Bitcoin price recovers.

Seems like the market is trying to force Strategy to sell Bitcoin.

@Undisciplined the difference is FTX was fraud

at least MSTR actually owns Bitcoin. better would be to compare to Terra Luna.

@grayruby youre right the best hope is to pray

scared money don’t make money HODL is real work im buying at 50k and 40k

reply

One, my comparison was just as this cycle's enormous cautionary tale.

Two, FTX did own bitcoin, didn't they? They just didn't have as much as they claimed and Saylor has consistently refused to show proof of reserves so we don't really know if he has as much as he claims.

You should have seen my other great idea.

"Saylor should go all in. Post 50B of Bitcoin as collateral and borrow as much as humanely possible and then spot market buy like 25B of Bitcoin. It will skyrocket back to 100k. MSTR will rip. Then he can issue more common equity to pay back his 25B loan and get his 50B in Bitcoin collateral back."

Why does that remind me of how you buy 49ers shares?

reply

Only problem is in my case I borrowed those sats from myself.

I mean if we are financial engineering let's get serious about it.

Saylor from the FT documentary with madam tooth:

You say I'm a financial engineer?? Yes I am!!

That’s my feeling. Is tether trying to break Saylor’s iron bank!

Based purely on vibes, this is the feeling I'm getting, and wondering how intense the subsequent crash might be

I have a much stronger stance on this than I used to. Shocker.
