but it’s harder to attract capital with down only. Price up, more people buy.

They have a fiduciary responsibility to act in the best interest of the shareholder. They need to get the best price possible for them.

Maybe they could make an argument for buying spot in the bear though as to your point price going up helps the stock and attracts more capital.
