I wanted to write at length about the ideas around it because just might be a complete departure from the last version.

Long Version:

I did not start out as a developer in Bitcoin, most people around PlebLab know that. I started off as a writer for Thriller Bitcoin and a Producer, that was six years ago...Wow how time flies.

I have been around Bitcoin developers, founders and builders for years, but I was always more on the design, founder, teaching, media, and community sides of things. I was the guy helping people think through products, tell their story, make something look and feel right, or figure out how to get people to care.

People would jokingly ask what I actually do at PlebLab, especially last year. Lol, jokingly, the guys would say Car is Rick Rubin, which honestly was pretty funny, and I think it just means great stuff gets built around me.

But the truth is, I always knew hanging around developers in Bitcoin, for the past 5 years, every day, I had some of this programming brain in me.

Story time…before Bitcoin, before PlebLab, before all of this crazy journey now, which is my life, I spent years doing web design professionally, and it was where I first discovered bitcoin. I also did IT infrastructure work for businesses around Central Texas, where I learned a ton about building for others. So it is kind of funny that lately I have felt that part of my brain turn back on again.

Not in some grand “I am an engineer now” way. More like I remembered that I actually enjoy making things work, especially when its frustraiting, which IT generally is. I do enjoy sitting with a problem too, until the shape of it starts to make sense in some ways. This part reminds me a lot of painting.

That is really where this version of PlebTV Impress came from.

Another story time...for years I have paid for different video tools, creator tools, hosting tools, editing tools, sharing tools, community tools, and most of the time I found myself frustrated. Not always because they were bad, a lot of them are good. But they never really felt like the thing I wanted to use every day, and I personally didn’t feel happy using or creating in it.

I kept wishing I could spend time building something I would actually love to spend time creating.

To be honest, that is one of the best parts of being inside PlebLab. Most of my friends are building things I genuinely enjoy using too. Not in a “let me shill you kinda” way. I mean, I actually use their stuff and talk about it because I enjoy it. I learn from it. I get inspired by it. Long ago, I realized that building useful things for yourself and your friends is still one of the best reasons to build anything at all.

So that is what this version of PlebTV Impress is.

Here is a little more context for people who do not know me outside of Bitcoin. I have always loved art, film, video, music, media, and internet culture. That has probably been truer longer than almost anything else about me. I deeply enjoy the way things feel when they are presented right and perfect and I do believe films will come back in a big way.

With Impress, I wanted to merge a lot of those things into one place.

The first version of PlebTV came out in 2024. It was mostly a proof of concept at the time. We were wrapping YouTube videos in a cleaner viewing experience on the web. Simple idea, but it helped me see that there was something there.

The second version in 2025 became more about creator pages. It gave people a better place to point to. Not just a random video floating around, but a home for the creator.

Version 3 is different.

Version 3 is more about creation.

I have a lot of crazy theories about things, but the more I think about this one, the more it feels right. In the very near future, people will be creating even when they sleep. Not literally in the cheesy way, but maybe close to think of it as content capital. LLM agents, remix tools, publishing systems, video workflows, cultural engines, all of it is going to keep moving even when you are not sitting there manually pushing every button, very soon.

I think a lot of it is going to be taste, distribution, clips, reference memes, shows, films, music, commentary, and people building their own little media worlds. Think of it as a multiverse of creator bubbles. The only issue I I see is this.

So today I am showing version 3 of PlebTV, dubbed Impress.

Why Impress?

Because I think we have moved from a views world to an impress world…a world built around impressions. That might sound weird at first, or even fiat but I think it is true. It is a lot to ask someone to watch a full video today. It is even more to ask them to listen to a full podcast. Everybody has too much in front of them already, and I think as people shift more into creation than consumption, this will be even more true.

But asking someone to look at something?

That is different. If they see it, feel the vibe, understand that it exists, and can come back to it later, chances are that impression mattered. Sometimes that is the whole game, the first impression is not everything, but it is the thing that gives the rest of the creation a chance.

That is the mindset behind this version, make videos easier to impress. Make the internet feel a little more like a place you would want to hang out and create stuff again.

We are not fully feature rich yet. There is still a lot I want to build, and I already know there are things that need to get better. But there are some cool ideas in here, and this version finally feels like a release a good release point.
