The process of birth is breathtaking, the miracle of life and all that. It’s incredible to see the small lambs move about and take their first few steps within minutes of being rudely shoved from the warmth of the womb (into the 0-ish degrees of our frozen Nordic wastelands… anybody said “spring”?). Must be quite the shock for the lamb, and quite the spectacle for us who are along for the ride.

What nobody ever tells you about is all the shit. The literal shit. The blood, the amniotic sacs and fluid, the mucous, the intense smell (that won’t come off your clothes or hands), and the mud, added to by the rain and the mid-May hail our latitudes so gracefully bless us with. While wonderful to witness, definitionally nourishing and life-giving, it’s quite a messy process.
Looking at the endless Bitcoin community infighting these days, I can’t help but relate the two.
