Another one bites the dust.
And they fucking LIE saying that using Spark is self-custodial!

I think you misunderstood the article. They are killing the custodial wallets.

by forcing their users to go on full idiocy using Spark (not bitcoin)

That's comparable to them having custodial solution, no?

worse
One thing is to just say the truth - "its custodial"
Another thing is to LIE your users, telling them is "self-custodial" when is not, is a lame sidechain. Somebody wants to make a business from all these submarine swaps and take control of the majority of bitcoin users and that is Marcus family. People forget WHO they are...

Nothing wrong with custodial services, as long as the user know the risks.

Fair, makes sense.

What did I missunderstand? here is my quote:

Can anyone recommend me a different KYC-free custodial lightning wallet that I can continue to use as a proxy for privacy/convenience

My understanding is, they are killing kyc-free custodial lightning wallets. Is that incorrect?

The title of the article says "Blink SV is killing KYC-free Lightning wallets". But when you read the article they are keeping KYC-free lightning wallets. They are just killing the custodial solution - which is a good thing imo.
Your title doesn't mention anything about custodial vs selfcustodial and that's where I think you are either misunderstanding the article or your title is misleading. My 2 sats.

I changed at the best time, from blink to my own channel using zeus

Recommendation of wallets is a slippery slope, everyone has their own ideas

These are not Recommendations but @justin_shocknet has a somewhat custodial version of ShockWallet that one could use

Most custodial wallets now use spark which can track/record your transactions and I'm sure Justin wouldn't touch spark

Shockwallet is designed to be fully self custodial but there is an option to use a bootstrapped (shared node)

DYOR or listen to another stackers advice

reply

Intent with bootstrap is it will spin up a vps-based node, fully client initiated, once it's cost effective to do so such that were not custodying material amounts... Just service credit

Can also point it to anyone else's pub by entering their pub's nprofile
