I still haven't done a deep dive on all the rosters but here's my sense of how the teams will stack up next season. My criteria is basically that I'd expect a higher ranked team to win a playoff series against a lower team.

Caveat: Lebron will be worth about three places higher

  1. Spurs
  2. Thunder
  3. Knicks
  4. Denver
  5. Boston
  6. Minnesota
  7. Pacers
  8. Heat
  9. Blazers
  10. Lakers
  11. Warriors
  12. 76ers
  13. Magic
  14. Cavs
  15. Pistons
  16. Hawks
  17. Raptors
  18. Rockets
  19. Jazz
  20. Mavs
  21. Suns
  22. Hornets
  23. Pelicans
  24. Grizzlies
  25. Kings
  26. Wizards
  27. Clippers
  28. Bucks
  29. Nets
  30. Bulls

Philly at 4th

reply

That's fine. I have them jumping a few teams that were better than them last season.

reply

Maxey
VJ
JB
LeBron
Embiid

can you imagine that?

reply

I can indeed, which is why they were my guess as to where he's going.

reply

You pick

76ers or paring with Curry?

reply

I'd much rather see him with Steph. My favorite destinations are probably Indiana and Denver right now.

reply

Indi I can't see it

Nuggets the highest IQ basketball ever? This would be something

reply

You can't see the best transition player of all time joining the best transition team in the league?

Terrible.

  1. Knicks
  2. Spurs
  3. Thunder
  4. Nuggets
  5. Twolves
  6. Celtics
  7. Heat
  8. Rockets

Andre Drummond for the regular season is good enough

Maxey
VJ
JB

The Ball pressure and drive of the trio can carry them for a top 3 seed in the East

reply

Bad news on that front...

reply

On paper. Let's see how it looks on the court.

reply

We have the same top 6

Ordered differently

Knicks is trailing west foes, New York campaign was "One of the greatest all time" out of the playoffs i could easily see them ending with 4th seed in the East

reply

What about the Rockets or Cavs is impressing you?

reply

Consistency bias. Every year I overrate them thinking this will be the year and every year I am sorely mistaken. Why mess with a good thing?

They are certainly better than the Magic and Warriors (unless the Warriors get AD and Lebron)

reply

I trust the Warriors to not implode more than I trust the Rockets or Cavs to do the same.

reply

Hard to implode when you are destined for mediocrity.

reply

You must be forgetting how great they looked before Jimmy got hurt

reply

I remember looking like a fool after putting them way too high in the first power rankings during the season.

reply

I don’t think I’ll feel too bad about rating them slightly below the median

🥰 But not a fan of Pacers being so high!

reply

Pacers 7????? come on UN!!

reply

Higher? Since they're the last team to beat the might Knicks in the playoffs.

reply

They lost Turner! Burton looks fat. Who is their PG? TJ?!?

reply

Turner sucked in the playoffs and as for their PG...

reply

Hmmm in May this picture may have pissed me off but now I smile because we are champs and Hail needs to worry about his ankle holding up.

Turner was still a solid big took pressure off Spicy P and can shoot a bit. The Pacers were DOGSHIT last season and now you expect them to be a top ten team in the NBA?!!

Hali coming back isn’t the same as when Steph and Klay came back after a bad Warriors season.

Ahahhaahahhahaha

reply

Zubac is better than Turner, although it remains to be seen if he's as good of a scheme fit.

reply

Man how u gonna disrespect the Knicks liek that

reply

They were the best and got a little worse. The Spurs and Thunder are probably still getting better.
