I have mentioned on several occasions that my daughter is a fan of Pokémon, games, series, toys and everything related to it.
There's one game in particular that's his favorite, Pokémon MMO. It's a game based on the graphics of the first games, of course with its current variations. You can save your progress, it's online, and they hold special tournaments and events, such as the famous "Shiny World," meaning players have a greater chance of catching shiny Pokémon, and if I'm not mistaken, this event is annual.
In the days leading up to the event, my daughter was searching for a shiny Staryu. Apparently, there's a chance of catching them by fishing patiently in a lake, and my daughter spent many days trying. The other option, and the most difficult, is to breed two Pokémon (male and female), in this case Staryu, and hope that a shiny Staryu hatches. To give you an idea of how difficult it is, the probability of catching one is 1 in 50,000 encounters, meaning that getting one to hatch is even more improbable. My daughter didn't give up; she kept hunting regular Staryu to breed them. One day, the unthinkable happened: a shiny Staryu appeared in a group. Her favorite shiny Pokémon was right there in front of her eyes. Excitement and nerves overwhelmed her. To catch a shiny Pokémon, you have to weaken them a little in battle so they can stay in the Poké Ball when you throw it, but the worst happened: she ended up knocking out her favorite Pokémon.
The statistics say it's one in 50,000, and she was "lucky" enough to find it, but she wasn't prepared. She didn't have the right Poké Balls to make things easier, among other things. At that moment, of course, the frustration began, along with the regrets of "I should have done this," "I should have had those..." "I should have done it differently," but the damage was done; there was no going back.
She was very sad, of course, she cried a little, and she's still searching after several months. Talking about it makes her nostalgic, but she didn't throw a tantrum or make a scene. She learned from the experience.

Oh, I see. Great that you read it. Thanks!
I'm sorry, I didn't understand. English isn't my first language and sometimes I get confused with phrases.
I think that's one of those experiences that makes you stronger...
Now she knows that if luck comes, she needs to be ready to grab it.
That's right! Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.
She probably doesn't grasp just how unlikely that was and I'd imagine it made her much more optimistic about finding another one.
Gaming builds character with the right guidance. Rage quit culture tries to chip away at that, but learning how to handle yourself when winning, losing or being hard-pressed for luck builds patience, resilience, and preserves the good-natured spirit of what gaming should be, imo.
