I’ve been working on MiniPod since November, mostly by vibe coding.

It’s a short-audio app for listening to useful info, and other updates in the background.

At the moment there are four different audio feeds:

-MiniPicks: curated one-minute audio by me.
-Follow: audio from people you follow on Nostr.
-Global: discovering audio from across the network.
-Custom (coming soon): Your local radio - weather, traffic, and nearby updates.

The idea came from wanting to stay informed while walking, driving, working out, washing dishes, or doing anything else without spending so much time staring at a screen.

You can try it here:

iOS:
apps.apple.com/gb/app/minipodnet/id6761760125

Android:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.minip...

Web:

Zapstore:
coming soon.

Would really appreciate it if you tried it and told me what you think, especially if anything feels confusing or doesn’t work properly.

Thanks, glad you liked it!

Why does most of the audio sound odd? Like genAI reading from a script? Or a human reading from a script?

reply

Yes, it’s GenAI. I created an agent that researches, analyzes, fact-checks, generates a transcript, and converts it into audio.

reply

Kinda painful to the ears.

reply

Thanks for the feedback, I will try to improve.

Great! Do you have an open source Git repo for this?

I am asking because I can include it in my next Nostr Recap. The latest one is below.

reply

Not yet—I’m organising the repo before making it public. But yes, it will be fully open source.
