Sorry if it felt that I was pouncing on you. I feel strongly about the distinction between "Chaincode Labs pays an engineer that is a Bitcoin Core maintainer" vs "Chaincode Labs maintains Bitcoin Core". ;)
As they write on the website:
Chaincode engineers develop, review, test and maintain the reference Bitcoin implementation. [Emphasis added by me.]

Thanks for the information. It's great to get this firsthand input. The only reason I (mis)characterized the relationship is that I was looking at this page of the Chaincode web site that lists projects:
https://chaincode.com/projects
Core is listed as the first project. My use of the word "maintain" was taken from the site.
