Why the name "eCash", when there are already two unrelated projects with that name (Chaumian eCash and the XEC chain)?

  1. Both of those are dead projects, as I see it
  2. eCash.com was available and cheap
  3. it is a high quality name -- easy to spell and pronounce, short, etc

As someone who enjoys the cashu and fedimint projects, I will add that I was surprised by the name choice. Seems needlessly confusing?

It is a great name, and a pretty generic name too. I think it is a desirable property of the money the entire world is using to have a generic name.
