I was buying movie tickets (a rare occurrence for me, but my daughter wants to see the Odyssey)... and I noticed the AMC website accepts BitPay. Curious, I clicked that payment option, but then it wanted me to log in to a BitPay account. I wasn't interested in signing up for anything at that time, so I decided to use filthy fiat instead.
But that did get me wondering. Has anyone here used BitPay? What do you think about it?
I've used it once, w/ an intl sibling company of grubhub, just to test getting food delivery w/ sats, back when that was a novelty. Wasn't a great experience, also due to BIP-70. I never used it again after that one time.
Nowadays they allegedly have all kinds of shotgun KYC processes so I'd avoid it completely.
My phone provider used to accept Bitpay (on chain only, no Lightning). I paid this way for years, then they tried to force me to make a Bitpay account in addition to my existing customer profile.
