Doom-scrolling hooks the same dopamine pathways as other addictions. I lived it, and getting free from it was hard.
I built NoSuggest for that fight: a completely free, source-available PWA that strips YouTube to just the channels you choose. No recommendations, no Shorts, no trending, no algorithm.
Please share it with someone stuck in the scroll. 🙏 Developers, a GitHub star helps more than you would think. 🙏
Even when using a distraction-free wrapper or PWA like NoSuggest, the app embeds YouTube's official iFrame player, which connects your browser directly to YouTube's servers to stream video. Because of this direct connection, YouTube can still log your public IP address (revealing your approximate location and network), gather device fingerprint data (such as your browser version, OS, screen specs, and GPU), and read session storage or cookies. This means YouTube can still track video playback telemetry on a network and hardware level unless you actively route your connection through a VPN.
Appreciate it! Please try NoSuggest and let me know if it works well for you. Completely free, no premium feature up selling. Looking forward for your feedback.

Thank you.
cool idea. Where youtube player is working? I mean, where they are getting their data from, my ip, device and other data to track anyway?

good that you mentioned that. I tried it and works smoothly.
I don't have a youtube account and I open every link with an incognito window. It's not perfect, but it's something.
