Getting students to copy the awe-inspiring composition I had written for them might sound like a low-pedagogical-value activity but it was insightful for me because through it, I could sieve out the students who didn’t know how to spell “surprise” and “excitement”.

This was why I was determined to continue with my marking even though I had been assigned to do relief for 2 Gratitude. I asked them to amuse themselves by drawing and went on to entertain them by singing melodiously. I am not blowing my own trumpet because I received an outpouring of drawings from them at the end of the lesson, all of which complimented my singing.
