Have you ever tried to code with only 2 or 3 hours of electricity every 9 hours? Or with 4 hours a day? And with an internet connection of 23 kbps? When it hits 300 kbps we throw a party.

But you know what? I love it. And more than that, it's my chance to contribute to the Bitcoin community. To build or find solutions that give access to a system that only brings benefits if we use it right. That's what drives me: finding ways, not complaining about my geography. I learned that at Librería de Satoshi.

I'm not a developer, I'm a doctor

I live in a country where, on top of power and internet issues, many tools are geoblocked. I use VPNs constantly, but sometimes that slows things down even more. And that's deadly.

I discovered Bitcoin through Cuba Bitcoin courses in 2024. I haven't stopped learning since. First through education, then by looking for ways to contribute with tools we actually need. That's how I got into coding.

And let me be clear: huge respect for developers. Seriously. Mad props.

AI as an ally

I arrived in the age of AI, and that helps a ton when you want to contribute but don't have a CS background. Thanks to other community members who ARE developers, I got tasks, advice, links to AI tools. And I started learning how to use them for the benefit of everyone.

The problem: developing locally requires downloading a ton of resources. And with my connection, that's nearly impossible.

The hack that saved me

While researching, I found a killer tool on GitHub: Actions. With a Workflow you can generate an Artifact and see the result of your work. That's how I've been able to contribute to the Bitcoin ecosystem without depending on my unstable connection.

The bottom line

I'm telling you this not to show off how I do things, but to show you there are no excuses.

Bitcoin is the best thing that can happen to a human being. It's money, but it's not just money.

If you want to contribute:

• You don't need to be the best coder.
• You don't need the best connection.
• You don need 24/7 electricity.

All you need is THE WILL TO DO IT.

Bitcoin gives you freedom and responsibility. Help others enjoy that possibility too.

NOT EVERYONE can contribute, but EVERYONE CAN. It's just a matter of WANTING and doing POW. That's what Bitcoin is about.

Programar con 23 kbps y sin luz: cómo contribuir a Bitcoin cuando todo está en contra

¿Alguna vez has intentado programar con solo 2 o 3 horas de corriente cada 9 horas? ¿O con 4 horas al día? ¿Y con internet de 23 kbps? Cuando llega a 300 kbps ya hacemos fiesta.

Pero sabes qué? Me gusta. Y además, es mi oportunidad para colaborar con la comunidad Bitcoin. Buscar o construir soluciones que permitan acceder a un sistema que solo trae beneficios si lo usamos bien. Eso es lo que me mueve: buscar mecanismos, no quejarme de mi geografía. Eso lo aprendí en la Librería de Satoshi.

No soy programador, soy médico

Vivo en un país donde además de los problemas de internet y electricidad, muchas herramientas están geobloqueadas. Uso VPN constantemente, pero a veces eso enlentece aún más la conexión. Y eso es fatal.

Conocí Bitcoin gracias a los cursos de Cuba Bitcoin en 2024. Desde entonces no he parado de aprender. Primero con educación, luego buscando cómo contribuir con herramientas que necesitamos. Así me metí en la programación.

Y quiero decirlo claro: mis respetos para los programadores. Chapó.

La IA como aliada

Llegué en la era de la IA, y eso ayuda muchísimo a quienes queremos ayudar pero no tenemos formación. Gracias a otros miembros de la comunidad que sí son programadores, fui recibiendo tareas, consejos, enlaces a herramientas IA. Y empecé a aprender a usarlas en beneficio de todos.

El problema: desarrollar en local requiere descargar muchos recursos. Y con mi conexión, eso es casi imposible.

El hack que me salvó

Investigando encontré una herramienta brutal en GitHub: la sección Actions. Con un Workflow puedes generar un Artifact y ver el resultado de tu trabajo. Así he podido contribuir al ecosistema Bitcoin sin depender de mi conexión inestable.

El mensaje final

Te cuento esto no para mostrarte cómo lo hago, sino para que veas que no hay excusa.

Bitcoin es lo mejor que le puede pasar a un ser humano. Es dinero, pero no solo dinero.

Si quieres contribuir:

• No necesitas ser el mejor programador.
• No necesitas la mejor conexión.
• No necesitas luz 24/7.

Solo necesitas el DESEO DE HACERLO.

Bitcoin te da libertad y responsabilidad. Ayuda a que otros también disfruten de esa posibilidad.

NO CUALQUIERA puede contribuir, pero TODOS PODEMOS HACERLO. Solo es cuestión de QUERER y hacer POW. De eso se trata Bitcoin.
