Given that extremely seasoned bitcoiners who did most things right can be impacted by a multitude of bugs (specifically in entropy generation) do you see self custody scaling to the masses? Already was pretty difficult to sell non-technical parents and grandparents on it but now that one of the most trusted signors missed a bug for 5 years and AI LLMs are only getting better can normies actually be expected to understand the nuances and tradeoffs of self custodial bitcoin?

I’ve always thought KYC custodial setups would be the norm.
Most people prefer outsourcing responsibility.
hard to define “responsibility” thresholds tho. Was someone irresponsible if the got into bitcoin in 2023, but a coldcard to self custody, and was a noob around dice rolls so preferred to trust the “best in class” device to generate their seed?
It’s a middle ground case because they did decide to trust the security of the product they bought.
They have every right to sue ColdCard for damages, which means they didn’t assume full responsibility for their savings.
untenable
make sure you buy casino dice too and roll them properly
I saw that earlier. It’s too much, man.

Lightning provides way more than enough scalability at the moment. On chain fees are at historical lows.
