As they should be; God bless America the Nordics #1530104

More holidaymakers are opting to spend their summer vacations on so-called “coolcations” in the Nordic countries as traditional tourist hotspots in southern Europe endure successive waves of extreme heat as a result of climate change. Booking platforms, airlines and tour operators have reported rising demand for cooler destinations, with travellers increasingly looking to spend their holidays in Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark and Finland.

Online travel agent Trivago said UK bookings for July and August were up 55 per cent year on year for Norway, 57 per cent for Sweden and 29 per cent for Denmark, even as sunny Mediterranean countries remained the most popular holiday destinations for Britons.

"The shift comes after another year of extreme heat across Europe."

P.S., yesterday I went up the mountains, it was cold, like 6 degrees, (40s retard units) and windy af -- highest point, about 700masl (2,000-ish retard units). Then again, that wasn't really a vacation... just an average Thursday #1508570

I’ve always done cooler places in the summer and warmer in the winter.

Also, why not always cooler places??

reply

Because I have mostly lived in really f’ing cold places and it’s nice to mix things up.
