Some people get angry very quickly, while others are able to stay calm even when they are provoked. But does having a short temper automatically make someone a bad person?
Generally, i think anger is a normal human emotion, and everyone experiences it at some point. What matters may be how we handle that anger and what we choose to do when we are upset.
So, what do you think? Does being quick to anger make someone a bad person, or is it how they act after becoming angry that truly matters?
Much like regulating your emotions with meditation practice, being quick to anger doesn't make you a good or bad person imo, just more impulsive seeming in this case. I would feel bad projecting my totally unregulated emotion on people I care about, but I also view my thoughtful regulation as part of what makes me who I am. Incidentally, I'd generally rather stay quiet than put out unneeded negative energy.
I've found I quite often have thoughts that spring to mind unbidden - I think that's just how our brains work. Sometimes they make me laugh inside and others are things that I would hate to broadcast. Being able to soundly reject the worst of my base impulses before subjecting them to the rest of the world is kind of important. I wouldn't want to give that up, but at the same time just being a hot head doesn't make one a bad person.
Your view is well understood, and thanks so much for your contribution.
I think if you are quick to anger, this is something you should address, understand, and ultimately overcome across time.
People feel your anger, doesn’t matter exactly what you do with it. They react to it, making them react to you in a way you might not comprehend or prefer.
Well grasped, thanks so much.
That's how you react after getting angry. You have to learn to control that anger, because you might regret something you do when you're upset. You have to train your body and mind!
Yes, absolutely true!
Thanks very much for contributing.
Not necessarily. Unloading a lot of angst is actually good for your system. You release the stress and don't hold it, which ends up producing a chronic cortisol stress. The problem is that in modern society its not acceptable to just blow your top whenever. So, you need to find places or privacy to blow out, release pressure while not affecting others around you.
Thanks for your response, I appreciate
I don't think it makes you a bad person, but I think it makes you less productive. If you constantly sabotage your own ability to form cooperative relationships, you won't make it very far.
Your Contribution is highly appreciated, thank you!
Not necessarily.
In most cases it's physiological.
Low Lithium is an interesting factor that integrative health specialists are starting to talk about. Because our food is so intensively farmed, soil has been depelated of trace elements like Lithium. Supplementing with Lithium Orate (available off the shelf in the US) has a huge impact on emotional reactivity. Another option would be to grow your own potatoes in good soil.
Microbiome also affects mood since most neurotransmitters are synthesised in the stomach. Most people are deficient magnesium, bifidobacterium, and P5P which leads to low GABA - the emotional handbrake neurotransmitter.
Low level chronic inflammation or dental pain can be another factor.
Healthy body healthy mind.
Hello everyone who has commented so far, thanks for your response, it's really helpful.
Yes. I'm quick to anger and I'm for sure a worse person because of it. I would be a better person without it. No question.
