There's one thing I'm absolutely certain of: Bitcoin works, it makes sense, and it's here to stay. I've known that for a long time, and it's not going anywhere. What does cause me uncertainty, and what I've found harder to admit, is something else entirely: I don't know if the world will ever grasp it in time, or at the necessary speed.
It's not the same thing. Believing in something and doubting whether others will be up to the task of understanding it are two things that can coexist without contradiction, even if it's difficult to separate them at first.
What I see doesn't particularly encourage me. Adoption is progressing, but slowly. Much more slowly than it should if people truly paid attention to what's happening with money, with inflation, with the systems that are supposed to protect them. But most people don't pay that attention, and we already know why, because comfort is stronger than curiosity when no one forces you to question anything.
Sometimes I think the problem isn't that Bitcoin is difficult to understand. Truly understanding it requires asking uncomfortable questions about things most people prefer to avoid. And that has no technical, marketing, or price solution. It's a human problem, and human problems unfold at their own pace, which is almost never what you'd expect.
I've learned to bear that uncertainty without letting it destabilize me. Not because I've solved it, but because I understood that solving it isn't up to me. What is up to me is staying here, continuing to understand, continuing to accumulate knowledge, regardless of how fast the rest of the world moves. If the world catches up, great. If it's late, that's fine too. My sats will stay where I put them.

More and more, I think a perfectly fine target is something like Galt’s Gulch.
We don’t need to have a plan to save the whole world. A plan to build a refuge for those who want one is the necessary, and I’d say sufficient, step.

The people who find bitcoin valuable are already here.
Smart people will save themselves. The masses are saved by the new society that smart people build when they are left alone with sound money.
I agree with this view entirely.
I do find it difficult to get on board with this idea. Let me explain why:
