There's one thing I'm absolutely certain of: Bitcoin works, it makes sense, and it's here to stay. I've known that for a long time, and it's not going anywhere. What does cause me uncertainty, and what I've found harder to admit, is something else entirely: I don't know if the world will ever grasp it in time, or at the necessary speed.

I agree with this view entirely.

What I see doesn't particularly encourage me. Adoption is progressing, but slowly. Much more slowly than it should if people truly paid attention to what's happening with money, with inflation, with the systems that are supposed to protect them

I do find it difficult to get on board with this idea. Let me explain why:

• I don’t think adoption is progressing slowly; you just have to look back and see where we’ve come from to fully understand where we are now.
• People don’t understand Bitcoin simply because they don’t want to make the effort to learn about it; they fail to see inflation and the problems caused by government-issued money for the same reason: nobody wants to make the effort to learn, but everyone wants to make money and get ahead. It’s illogical.
• especially people who are financially secure in the FIAT world. Those people will be the last to understand Bitcoin, because they’ve been indoctrinated with their unit of account ($) and that prevents them from realising how Bitcoin could be of help to them.
