After many incredible years, TABConf 8, taking place October 12-15, 2026, in Atlanta, will be the final TABConf.

https://tabconf.com

TAB began as a meetup in 2016 and became a conference in 2018 as the community grew. From the beginning, TABConf focused on the technical side of Bitcoin and helped fill a gap left by events like Scaling Bitcoin.

Today, that gap is much smaller. There are now many strong technical Bitcoin conferences, workshops, and BitDevs communities. That is a good thing.

TABConf was never built as a business. It has always been a volunteer-run community service supported by a small core team and a much larger group of contributors.

The goal was simple: keep it technical and avoid price talk, hype, and "wen moon" content.

TABConf was not the place to learn why Bitcoin matters. It was the place to come once you understood that and wanted to learn what to do next. It has always been a conference for builders and doers.

We believe true sovereignty requires some level of technical competence. Better tools matter, but users also need the knowledge and confidence to take responsibility for their own money. With that being said do to the recent coldcard hacks we will have additional focuses on secure self-custody, including multisig, multiple vendors, and reducing single points of failure. We will also provide highly hands-on help and training for attendees who need support setting up and safely using these systems.

TABConf has always emphasized learning by doing through workshops, villages, puzzles, and interactive formats rather than relying only on panels and presentations.

A special thank you goes to everyone over the years that have helped, especially Brandon Iglesias, who has worked on TAB with me for 10 years and helped make TAB and the conference what it became. His idea to organize TABConf openly through GitHub also made the event unique.

TABConf has led to friendships, jobs, projects, companies, and even marriages. That impact is difficult to measure, but it means more than I can properly express.

Let's send it off the right way.

We hope you will join us in Atlanta for the final TABConf. Tickets, sponsorships, and additional information are available on the TABConf website.

The end of an era! I'm going to miss TAB Conf - you all really set the bar for what a technical bitcoin conference can be. I've met so many great people and friends there over the years. Thanks for all your dedication and making them them happen.
