Last week, more than 50,000 people illegally entered the Spanish exclave city of Ceuta, which normally has a population of only 80,000. Why not just open the border permanently?

Back in the early 1990s I took a little Ford rental car on the ferry from, I think Almunecar, to Ceuta. I remember passing the Rock of Gibraltar on the ferry. We stayed in Ceuta one night and then crossed the border into Morocco. It was fun back then.

I'd guess it's still usually fun

Yeah. It probably is. I remember the car had 3 cylinders, I think, and we barely made it through the Rif mountains.
