2017 N(T): Trying Something New

2)    What new activities or skills will you like to learn? Why?

Living in fast-paced Singapore, I would love to learn several new activities as a way of enriching my life and alleviating my stress.

My forte is writing, but I have never had the discipline to sit down and write a book. I would actually like to be a self-published author and publish my book on Amazon. I believe that doing so will enhance my confidence as consolidating my thoughts and converting them into written form will yield me a deep sense of satisfaction.

Other than self-publishing, I would also like to be certified as a personality coach. I am endlessly fascinated by the intricacies of human nature, so if I were to be certified as a MBTI or DISC personality profiling coach, I imagine I would relish the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and gain a more nuanced understanding of human nature.

Now that I have shared two things I would like to try, I hope that the stars will align in place someday so that I don't fall into the "all talk no action" trap.

Those are two great goals. I also would like to write a book one day!

and what kind of book would it be?

I wanted to write a book at the intersection of theology and economics, but it's a fairly crowded space. I'm not entirely sure I have something unique to say.

I feel you and working as a teacher, sometimes it isn’t about what unique viewpoints you bring to the table, but rather about how you can express done-to-death stuff in your own way. I still get amazed by my students’ sparks of brilliance (admittedly few and far between) in their compositions
