It was hard to watch the livestream the other day. Seems like 90% of the pleb support is with BIP 110 and 90% of the corporate support is against BIP 110. I wonder what the next big move now is?

reply

I think that is the impression from twitter. But perhaps one of the mistakes made by the bip110 movement is that they mistook Bitcoin twitter for an accurate representation of Bitcoin users as a whole.

I'm a pleb. I have a bitaxe. It mines to a core node.
Am i 'big bitcoin'? Am I corporate?

We made the difficult decision to stop mining operations under the name Roughnecks. We do not see this a defeat for the BIP110 movement but an escalation to the next step.

"After several hours of careful deliberations we decided that we've made a strategic error in our branding choices and we have fired the person responsible as they're probably an undercover pedo from the oppressive mining cartel that is attacking Bitcoin. We will continue our efforts with renewed confidence under a brand that covers the attributes of our interactions with the Bitcoin community better. We shall henceforth be known as Smoothbrains."

So what's the plan now? Go back to mining vanilla Bitcoin? And what's "an escalation to the next step"?

reply

PoW change. Already being planned for Sept 1 I think

an escalation to the next step

Selling their miners because theyll try a PoW change, maybe

reply

Why can't they just drop the 110 and still be Roughnecks. So much drama.

What a great way to start the day—the madness of the two blockchains is over.
