Then maybe, when a real, honest need arises in the future, we don't fuck up like Luke & co just did.
I don’t think their movement was genuine.
My question was "What would you change?", though. Put a UASF activation threshold?
You are asking me something the community is still struggling with. I don’t think governance has been solved. One think I would do differently is try not to alienate people who disagree my position.

If we accept that haters be hatin' (i.e. every autist will hate you if you were to use soft skills and every politician will hate you if you make hard rules) then trying to actually build consensus may be a great idea. Polarization doesn't help in that though, but who is going to build the bridge?

Thanks. I was there and am familiar with what went down. The bitcoin business I was working with at the time ran under hard SLA so I spent a lot of time writing monitoring for everything. Not the amateur weak sauce we see nowadays that is just a function of bribing influencers and bots hallucinating code.
My question was "What would you change?", though. Put a UASF activation threshold? iirc we had that for segwit. Do a real MASF without flag day first to not be perceived as an authoritarian little fucktard? iirc we had that with segwit. Don't do lot=true from the start? iirc we didn't have lot at all with segwit. Name the flaws. Then maybe, when a real, honest need arises in the future, we don't fuck up like Luke & co just did.
Remember though: you cannot do an activation without miners. Not even an UASF. So if you alienate everyone, you're not going to get anything done.
